Ocean Memory C#009
Projektart:

This jar is part of a ceramic series that echoes the rhythm and memory of the sea. Its cracked, textured surface, reminiscent of brain coral, speaks of time, salt, and tide—of nature’s slow and beautiful erosion. Each fissure is a tiny map, a weathered story, as if the piece had been resting on the ocean floor for centuries before surfacing again.
As a child, like so many others, I never tired of collecting treasures at the beach—stones, shells, fragments of the world’s edge. That quiet act of wonder never left me. It still finds its way into my hands, into clay.
This work is more than an object; it’s a return. A return to what stirs joy, curiosity, and thought. It’s not only about creating something beautiful (though that is part of it), but about creating something felt—something rooted in a lifelong dialogue with nature.
The ocean has always fascinated me—its vastness, its silence, its secrets. And perhaps, living in a city of cement and structure, this connection feels even more vital. Maybe it is precisely because we are surrounded by so much artificiality that we’re drawn to the raw, unpredictable beauty of nature.
This jar holds more than form. It holds memory, longing, and the texture of time.
